Welcome to PATROL Minnesota

If you already have a username and password Login above. You can access PATROL at any time from any Internet connection. Review a short Student Guidebook with details on how to use this tool.

The League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust, Minnesota Sheriffs' Association and The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association have partnered with NexPort Solutions to bring you PATROL.

What is PATROL?
PATROL (Police Accredited TRaining OnLine) is a powerful learning tool for Minnesota law enforcement officers. Through PATROL, you'll access extensive web-based courses on current legal issues, and research on important developments impacting Minnesota law enforcement.

Each month, a new, 60-minute course will be available. Upon successful completion of each course, you will earn one POST credit. If you successfully complete all PATROL courses, you will earn 12 POST credits per year.

If you aren't familiar with PATROL, you might find it useful to review a short demonstration. For further information about this program, please review our FAQs.

If you have questions about PATROL and whether it's right for your agency, contact Laura Honeck at the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, at 651-281-1280 or patrol@lmc.org.

Getting Started
A PATROL request should only be made by an individual authorized to purchase this service for participating officers in your agency. You will first need to designate someone from your agency as a PATROL Administrator. Your campus administrator will have access to the manager console in the campus which provides for progress reports and other training information on your employees. Each law enforcement agency will need to fill out a subscription form and complete the subscription agreement and student enrollment form. Please follow the PATROL subscription materials and administrative guidelines to begin your subscription.

Who can access PATROL?
PATROL is only available through law enforcement agencies in Minnesota; it is not available directly to individuals. Each participating agency must first sign up for the program before employees can access PATROL.

Cost
The PATROL calendar year runs from September through the end of August. Officers from LMCIT or MCIT member agencies pay only $85 per officer per year. Officers from non-member agencies pay $115 per officer per year. After February 28th the subscription cost is cut in half.

Because legal research and issues frequently change, students will have four months to test for each course from the date of their release. After four months the course, minus the exam, will be available to students for future reference but they will no longer be able to test. Remember, students will have access to important developments impacting Minnesota law enforcement throughout their subscription.
