Guidelines & Standards
Conformant, compliant, comprehensive
NexPort provides your organization with content authoring tools and a delivery system that meets or exceeds the stringent requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD) Advanced Distributed Learning SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model – reusable curriculum objects) guidelines, the Aviation Industry Curriculum Consortium (AICC), and the Federal Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards for e-learning. Regardless of whether your primary concern is SCORM guidelines, AICC standards or Section 508 (ADA) compliance and/or interoperability requirements, NexPort meets or exceeds those guidelines and standards. NexPort provides a system that will meet your needs now and in the future. NexPort is also committed to supporting your requirements for interoperable training records and documentation systems.
Conformance: SCORM 1.2 and 2004
- SCORM – A critical element of e-learning delivery is ensuring that courseware is always developed to be interoperable across Learning and Content Management Systems. NexPort supports the current SCORM guidelines for versions 1.2 and 2004. This ensures courseware compatibility for your organization today and into the future.

Compliance: AICC and ADA 508c
- AICC – NexPort delivers courseware developed under the AICC standard to ensure compatibility with curriculum offered by various AICC compliant providers.
- Section 508 (ADA) – NexPort delivers courseware developed specifically to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is fully compatible with the features designed to use ADA readers/plug-ins such as JAWS.

Comprehensive: Interoperability
- NexPort supports single sign-on capability: As an individual signs-on using a username and password to an existing organization website, he or she can access NexPort transparently to use any of the features provided.
- NexPort supports direct access to other e-learning resources. Individuals can access other e-learning portals through NexPort to accomplish required training. Training records from other trusted partners can be passed to the NexPort training management system for a single-source training transcript.
- NexPort supports HR system and training records interoperability: NexPort can output training records in virtually any format to your organization’s human resources system or training management system. This can be done either actively or passively, meeting the requirements for an organization’s network firewall standards. Currently NexPort supports this capability for many customers including the U.S. Army.
