Client Gateway

Secure, scalable, reliable

Your NexPort performance support portal is accessed through a NexPort Client Gateway as a 24/7/365 hosted service. You receive all the benefits of a state-of-the-art, highly secure (128-bit SSL encrypted), massively scalable and highly reliable network without the burden of owning, maintaining and continuously investing in complex applications software, information technology, and communications technology infrastructure.

The Client Gateway Network employs geographically dispersed server sites that communicate through dedicated, redundant, broadband connections. The figure below depicts general and proposed locations only – actual site locations are not shown, nor are they available to the public. This geographical dispersion provides a greater degree of security and survivability in the event of power failure, natural disaster, or terrorist activity. The Gateway Network control center operates from a Tier 1 facility that has maintained 99.999% uptime for over two years.

Primary site infrastructure maintains a minimum of three levels of redundancy in the five critical areas of data center operations as follows:

Power: The system employs fully conditioned, redundant power protected via three 180 KVA centralized uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), a 375 KVA diesel generator and electronic switching gear.

Environment: The facility features triple-redundant environmental controls and remote environmental monitoring.

Security: Facilities provide no less than three layers of physical security devices to each server cabinet and all support equipment, including: escorted access, sign-in logs, proximity sensors at all entrances and logging sensors on all cabinets, closed-circuit cameras that provide 24/7 digital recordings of all cabinet access, on-site building security and security response services through local police and private security.

Connectivity: The system maintains redundant fiber optic Internet connectivity via Southwestern Bell Communications (SBC SONET Ring) SONET and Cox Communications (COX ATM Ring) ATM. Each facility also provides an on-site add/drop multiplexing (ADM) capability that allows seamless switching between carriers in the event of a natural disaster, service interruption or catastrophic event at a carrier’s facility.

Network: The internal architecture employs redundant IP routing, redundant routers and switches and dual paths to all servers.

Our certified technical staff employs industry-best practices to manage the day-to-day operations and connectivity of each facility. Each facility can provide the capacity to serve up to 200,000 concurrent users.
